Blue and White

Last week I attended BloggerScene's Summer Cocktail Party at the VIDA Penthouse Pool Club at the Yards in DC. It's absolutely insane how much that area has exploded in the past several years. The rooftop pool is fabulous. The details and design are impeccable - you can't help but want to lounge around with a cocktail in hand. Afterwards, I had a delicious dinner at Bluejacket Brewery. It was my first time there, and I was impressed with the ample outdoor space and the mouth watering grilled cheese that I had. The waitress described the cheeses as being "a bit funky", but they were funky in all the right ways, and the apple butter gave it just a touch of sweetness. I will definitely be back.

Since BloggerScene is, as the name would lead you to believe, an event for bloggers, I made sure to wear one of my favorite spring outfits. This eyelet moto jacket is my go to for making a colorful, lightweight dress into a work appropriate outfit. I love that it has the sweetness of eyelet, but the edge of the moto style and the gold details. It goes with literally everything. The dress is just $34 and from... Kohl's. I did not even know where a Kohl's might be, but when I read on Corals + Cognacs that Milly did a line with Kohl's (released about the same time as the infamous Lilly for Target line!), I had to check it out. While everything was surprisingly adorable, I decided on this fit and flare dress. The print is so crisp and the fit is perfect.

Though you can't see the Gorjana cuff up close, it's one of my every day jewelry pieces now. I received it in my last Rocksbox and I just couldn't send it back! Buying through Rocksbox gives a bit of a break off the retail price, and you can try out a free month by using the code pineapplesandpearlsxoxo (it's basically Netflix for jewelry - and you can choose to keep and buy a piece if you love it!)
