Autumn in Tennessee

A couple weeks ago I posted about my favorite fall dress and how I wear it for both casual and dressy occasions. Well, as you may have seen on Instagram this past weekend, I took that outfit post for a real life spin.

It was the perfect fall look for a day spent in rural Tennessee. With more than a slight chill in the air and the crunch of fallen leaves underfoot, layers of woolcable knit, and plaid felt appropriately cozy.

I love the look of cable knit leggings rather than normal tights. A little bit of texture goes a long way for giving an outfit more visual interest and a casual, outdoorsy vibe. I even layered mine over another pair of tights since I was worried about freezing on the first cold day we've had this fall.

An oversized plaid blanket scarf is the quintessential blogger item this fall, so I know that you've seen this before, but I just love how this scarf pulls in so many colors that it really does seem to go with every item in my fall wardrobe. If you're looking for a more neutral blanket scarf this season, check out this one or this gorgeous gray

I have a few more outfit posts coming over the next few weeks so stay tuned. Also, you'll see that when I wrote last week that I've been wearing my quilted vests way too often, I wasn't exaggerating. You've been warned.
