Benefit's Big Easy

I've mentioned my favorite BB cream, Dr. Jart's Black Label Beauty Detox Cream, countless times on this blog and I am standing by it as one of my all time favorite beauty products. However, Benefit has been doing an amazing job of promoting their newest products on social media (this new push up liner has been everywhere!) and after seeing countless tweets and mentions of their new Big Easy Better than BB Multi-Balancing Complexion Perfector, I finally had to try it.

I popped into Sephora and, luckily, I was helped right away by a salesgirl who had experience with the Big Easy. I would have picked up Fair because I am about as fair as can be, but she quickly steered me away and towards the Light shade. This is a makeup that definitely runs extremely light, so go a little darker than you typically would.

Benefit promises a liquid to powder finish with an SPF of 35. It certainly delivers. When applied correctly, which means patting the product into the skin rather than rubbing it in, it leaves behind a shine free, flawless looking complexion. It's definitely a lighter coverage product, but it is just enough to cover any redness or imperfections, and it leaves skin looking matte, yet refreshed. I applied this over L'Oreal Texture Perfector and felt they were the perfect pair.

My first few days trying out this product included a 12 hour drive to Tennessee, 2 days spent in the Georgia humidity, and then an extremely early morning drive to Atlanta and a flight back to DC. Throughout all these tough tests, the Big Easy Better than BB totally held up. This will absolutely become a staple in my summer beauty routine since the SPF 35 is a huge plus and the velvety texture lasts throughout the dog days of summer.
