Breaking the Rules

One of the big fashion debate these days is whether or not white after Labor Day is acceptable. Though I hate putting away my white jeans, pants, skirts, and dresses, especially when it's still 90+ degrees out, I tend to stick to the rule (though my Instagram followers know I broke it at least once.) However, I do think it's become more and more acceptable in the fashion world to buck tradition and continuing wearing white well into September. This week I'm going to show a few different ways that I think you can transition your white pieces into the fall.

I love the look below because it incorporates print mixing, fall colors (tan, black, and purple), and creates a rich color palette that tempers the summery feel of the white jeans. The white just serves as a backdrop for these deep colors (especially that gorgeous bag!)

What do you all think? Do you wear white post Labor Day?

  1. I generally don't wear white on my bottom half after labor day, but tops definitely. I tend to transition from whites to creams sometime around Halloween though. I'm not much of a rule breaker :)

    1. That's about the same as me! With the exception of a white button down, I try to do off white and ivory post October.
