Turkey Pesto Burgers

A yummy alternative to your usual cookout fare! I first had turkey pesto burgers several years ago when my boss at my first real job made them for lunch one day. I was working at an interior design firm in Charlottesville which was actually in my boss’s house out in the country and once a week, she would make us these unbelievable lunches. I was seriously spoiled.

Back to the recipe - the pesto is a great way to keep the turkey burgers from drying out (I was never a huge fan of turkey burgers prior to realizing that some sort of binder is necessary to keep them moist) and over the years I’ve added a few other key ingredients.

Note: I’m not one for measurements so you generally won’t find them in my recipes. Very Rachael Ray.

Ground turkey
A couple spoonfuls of pesto
Finely diced red onion
Crumbled feta
Minced garlic

Mix all ingredients together and cook burger as you normally would. Serve on toasted bun with lettuce and tomato. I usually add a little more pesto and feta on top, but that depends on how indulgent you want to be.
